Science is hiring a microelectronics integration engineer to develop the mass transfer, packaging and test processes behind its next-generation medical implants.

About the role

Science is a clinical stage, vertically integrated technology company working on neuroscience's hardest questions and most serious unmet medical needs, building devices aimed at restoring vision, cognition and mobility. It also provides components and infrastructure for others to build on through Science Foundry.

About the role

This hands-on role supports development of Science's next-generation medical implants, focused on heterogeneous integration: developing mass-transfer processes, integration and packaging schemes, and the test methods that prove out the devices you build.

What you will do

  • Develop, optimise and qualify microelectronic mass transfer processes.
  • Develop substrate integration processes including bonding, interconnect formation and device packaging.
  • Execute accelerated lifetime testing on integrated devices.
  • Execute in-process metrology and failure analysis for integrated devices.

What they are looking for

  • Hands-on experience developing mass transfer, heterogeneous integration or die attach processes.
  • Hands-on experience with thin-film processing and cleanroom microfabrication.
  • Hands-on experience with reliability testing.
  • Preferred: implantable devices, packaging and encapsulation materials, and scaling a process from R&D through pilot or production.
