About the role

This senior leadership role reports to the CEO and leads Science's quality assurance and regulatory affairs, clinical operations, sterilization and clinical software functions. The first priority is ensuring each function meets the requirements of Science's internal programs, from preclinical studies and clinical trials through manufacturing and post-market surveillance. Beyond that, the role builds these functions into products external partners can use to run trials, maintain quality systems and sterilise devices.

What you will do

• Oversee the QARA, clinical operations, sterilization and clinical software teams, setting priorities, budgets and internal service levels.
• Build and run the Clinical Services business, defining offerings, pricing, service levels and contract terms, and owning its financial performance.
• Act as the executive accountable for the Quality Management System and global regulatory strategy, serving as management representative for notified body audits and regulatory inspections across the US, EU, UK and Australia.
• Ensure the success of clinical trials end to end, from protocol design and site activation through monitoring, data management, safety reporting and close-out, under ISO 14155 and GCP.
• Oversee sterilization validation and routine processing for implantable devices under ISO 11135.
• Scale operations without proportional headcount growth, using software and LLM-assisted workflows.

What they are looking for

• 15+ years leading medical device quality, regulatory or clinical affairs, including 5+ years in senior leadership managing leaders.
• A track record of executive accountability for Class III or implantable device programs through regulatory approval and clinical completion.
• Experience building or running a services business in a regulated industry, such as a CRO or contract sterilizer.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, EU MDR, ISO 14155 and ISO 11135.
• Preferred: active implantable devices, neurotechnology or BCI experience, and HDE, Breakthrough Device or early feasibility study pathways.
