Netholabs is a neuroscience and AI research company building biological foundation models grounded in large-scale neurobehavioral data. It designs custom hardware, high-density neural recording systems and tracking environments to capture petascale datasets, working towards whole brain emulation. The company has offices in London and San Francisco and a research site at the University of Sussex in Brighton.

About the role

This role owns the quality and integrity of everything Netholabs records. The company captures people performing real-world tasks, from physical manipulation to computer use, across precisely synchronized modalities: motion tracking, eye tracking, multi-camera video and neural signals such as EEG.

It is hands-on and technical for now. Once the data is proven and collection volume grows, the role expands into building and managing the participant pipeline.

Now: rigs, sessions and data quality

• Set up, calibrate and operate multimodal recording rigs across motion tracking, eye tracking, camera arrays and neural and physiological sensors.
• Own temporal synchronization and spatial calibration across every device.
• Run recording sessions spanning manipulation tasks and computer use, with neural data recorded throughout.
• Apply neuroimaging best practice: sensor placement, signal and impedance checks, artefact and noise reduction.
• Verify each session is complete, correctly logged and meets quality standards before it reaches the research team.
• Obtain informed consent and handle participant data under UK GDPR, keeping versioned SOPs as protocols evolve.

As collection scales

• Build and manage the participant panel, recruitment, screening and scheduling, and drive retention across repeat sessions.
• Help stand up new collection sites internationally, keeping protocols, consent and data handling consistent.

What they are looking for

• A background in neuroscience or a related field, with hands-on experience collecting neurophysiological data and keeping it clean.
• Comfort setting up, calibrating and troubleshooting recording hardware.
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills with participants.
• Right to work in the UK, and willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
