Constellation is building a foundation model of human state, translating multimodal human data into generalizable embeddings to power clinical, robotic and AI systems. It is a venture-backed team of 15 to 20 researchers and engineers based in San Francisco's Mission District.

About the role

This hands-on role helps run high-quality data collection sessions in Constellation's labs. You will work directly with participants, operate the data collection equipment, keep sessions running smoothly, and solve problems as they arise, working closely with engineers, researchers and the operations team.

Shifts run in blocks throughout the day between 4am and 12am, and the assigned schedule may vary week to week based on study needs.

What you will do

• Run data collection sessions with participants, ensuring each is completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate participant records and log technical events affecting collection.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and environmental issues in real time.
• Keep participants comfortable, focused and on schedule throughout their sessions.
• Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, neuroscientists and AI researchers.

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, and a highly reliable, organized and detail-oriented approach.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Comfort learning new technology and following detailed protocols.
• Schedule flexibility, including early morning and late evening shifts with weekend availability as needed.
• Nice to have: EEG or other physiological data collection equipment, and experience in research, lab operations, healthcare or hospitality.

The role is eligible for overtime, 100 hours of PTO annually, and participation in the 401k plan.
