Precision Neuroscience is hiring a senior director of brand and communications to lead its PR and media strategy, executive communications and content, shaping the company's public positioning.

About the role

Precision Neuroscience is building a next-generation brain-computer interface for people living with neurological conditions. Its first product, Layer 7, is designed to help people with severe paralysis operate digital devices using only their thoughts. Founded in 2021, the company has raised more than $180 million and has initiated human trials with hospitals across the country.

About the role

This role leads and executes strategic communications, shaping Precision's public presence and positioning. It drives internal and external messaging, media relations, content creation and executive communications.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute an integrated PR and media strategy to enhance brand visibility, in partnership with Marketing.
  • Manage Precision's relationship with its external PR firm and branding agency.
  • Build and manage relationships with journalists, media outlets and industry influencers.
  • Develop internal communication materials including orientation and training materials, written company history, communication policies and executive updates.
  • Work with executive leadership on brand image, messaging and communication strategy for key audiences.
  • Craft blog posts, op-eds, white papers and articles highlighting the technology and leadership.
  • Oversee multimedia content across website, video, podcasts and social media.

What they are looking for

  • 8 to 12 years of progressive communications, brand or marketing leadership experience.
  • At least 3 years in a tech company rather than agency-only, ideally at Series C or pre-IPO stage during rapid growth.
  • Demonstrated experience building a communications function from early stage.
  • Proven ability to translate technical subject matter into accessible narratives.
  • Strong editorial instinct and high-level writing ability, plus experience managing brand and PR agencies.

This position is based in the New York City office.
