Precision Neuroscience is building a next-generation brain-computer interface for people living with neurological conditions. Its first product, Layer 7, is designed to help people with severe paralysis operate digital devices using only their thoughts. Founded in 2021, the company has raised more than $180 million and has initiated human trials with hospitals across the country.

About the role

This role translates PCB schematics into manufacturable layouts and coordinates manufacturing and assembly with vendors, working on implantable electronics alongside electronics, microfabrication and mechanical engineers.

What you will do

• Translate electrical schematics and system requirements into manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Perform component placement for signal integrity, thermal performance, manufacturability and mechanical and assembly constraints.
• Route high-density analog, RF, high-speed, digital and power signals according to design rules.
• Generate fabrication and assembly deliverables including Gerbers, ODB++, IPC-2581, drill files, pick-and-place data and assembly drawings.
• Coordinate with fabrication and assembly vendors on stackup, material selection, tolerances and DFM reviews.
• Maintain PCB libraries covering footprints, symbols and 3D mechanical models, and document layout guidelines and revision history.

What they are looking for

• Strong understanding of PCB layout fundamentals and multilayer board design.
• Solid grasp of PCB fabrication and assembly processes, tolerances and limitations.
• Experience with stackup design, transmission lines, controlled impedance and material properties.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
• Experience with Altium Designer in ECAD/MCAD projects, and generating manufacturing outputs with fabrication vendors.
