Precision Neuroscience is hiring a business development director to build and own its partnership function, structuring and negotiating collaboration and licensing agreements across life sciences.

About the role

Precision Neuroscience is building a next-generation brain-computer interface for people living with neurological conditions. Its first product, Layer 7, is designed to help people with severe paralysis operate digital devices using only their thoughts. Founded in 2021, the company has raised more than $430 million and has initiated human trials with hospitals across the country.

About the role

This role establishes and oversees Precision's partnership function, building a pipeline of strategic partnerships with organizations across the life sciences ecosystem.

What you will do

  • Structure and negotiate complex collaboration and licensing agreements, covering commercial terms, governance and rights.
  • Work cross-functionally to design executable partnership models.
  • Communicate sophisticated technical work to senior external stakeholders at conferences and partner meetings.
  • Advise leadership on partnership strategy and resource allocation.
  • Define the partnership function's processes and internal workflows.

What they are looking for

  • 8+ years in business development, alliance management or corporate development, preferably in biopharma.
  • A track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder agreements involving technology or scientific collaboration.
  • Deep knowledge of how R&D is evaluated and adopted in life sciences, plus deal structuring, term sheets and rights allocation.
  • The ability to engage credibly with scientific experts; a neuroscience background is an advantage.

The role is US-based, with offices in New York, California and Texas.
