About the role

This role sits on the Datastore team, which is the foundational data infrastructure for Beacon's brain-data platform. The focus is backend systems design and scaling rather than front-end work.

What you will do

• Work with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into data platform solutions.
• Design and implement features with an emphasis on data integrity and maintainability.
• Lead technical design phases through RFCs and team alignment.
• Ensure data correctness across systems, prioritizing completeness and idempotency.
• Improve operational robustness through documentation, tooling and dashboards.

What they are looking for

• 5+ years of backend development including 2+ years with data platforms.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL with hands-on query optimization.
• Kafka or equivalent event streaming, plus Julia or Python.
• Containerization and Kubernetes, GraphQL and TypeScript.
